WalletConnect plans to launch license-free open network in 2025
Web3 communication protocol WalletConnect has released a new decentralized roadmap, with plans to officially launch a license-free open network in 2025. The roadmap will be divided into four phases:
Phase 1 (current): Launching closed network testing preparation work, expanding infrastructure to multiple relays in preparation for the launch of the license-free WalletConnect network;
Phase 2 (Q1 2024): Launching closed network and completing testing to achieve license registry, allowing multiple parties to read and write to the database;
Phase 3 (Q3 2024): Launching open network and completing testing, using selected third-party relays to establish a peer-to-peer framework, achieving progressive network access, while testing participant incentive measures;
Phase 4 (end of 2025): Officially launching a license-free open network, the WalletConnect network will transition to a fully decentralized state, with infrastructure providers operating collectively within the community.
