Andre Cronje: Fantom has solved the problem of state expansion, and new technology will significantly reduce storage requirements
On January 9th, Andre Cronje, the director of the Fantom Foundation, announced on social media that Fantom has successfully solved the issue of state bloat in blockchain, which is one of the core milestones since the project was established.
Fantom has also introduced a new database technology called Carmen, which uses flat storage instead of tree or dictionary structures, and further significantly reduces the current activation state bloat while maintaining the encrypted signature of the world state.
Note: State bloat refers to the problem of increasing storage space required over time when processing and storing transaction and smart contract data in blockchain. This can lead to increased storage costs and decreased processing efficiency, especially for nodes that need to maintain the complete historical integrity of the network.
