Injective will complete Volan mainnet upgrade on Thursday
Injective announced that it will complete the Volan mainnet upgrade and launch new features on Thursday (January 11th).
Earlier on January 2nd, Injective announced that the Volan upgrade had been successfully tested on the Injective testnet.
According to official sources, the Volan upgrade will introduce the following features to Injective:
- Sub-second block time: Achieve fast transactions and reduce front-running and MEV attack risks;
- IBC integration: Achieve interoperability with the Cosmos ecosystem and other IBC-supported chains;
- Support for CosmWasm smart contracts: Allow developers to create diverse applications using multiple programming languages;
- EVM compatibility: Lower the threshold for developers to migrate applications;
- Introduction of governance modules: Allow INJ token holders to participate in network decision-making processes.
It is reported that this upgrade requires a hard fork of the Injective network, which means that all nodes and validators must update their software to the latest version.
