Report: Cryptocurrency Gains 62 Million Users Across 8 Chains in 2023
According to a report from Flipside Crypto, blockchain users and activity are both growing throughout 2023. The analytics company writes: Cryptocurrencies have recently been extremely volatile, with on-chain activity and user sentiment fluctuating wildly last year... but ultimately, the past few months ended on a high note, with user growth and activity surging across almost all major chains. It's worth noting that growth in already acquired users is defined as users who have conducted at least two transactions on the blockchain.
The report shows that the number of users on eight major blockchains has reached 62 million. Ethereum and Polygon have the most users acquired, with each gaining about 15 million users last year. Meanwhile, Bitcoin gained 10.7 million users in 2023. The growth of other chains is much less.
Flipside notes that user acquisition peaked in May 2023, when 5.8 million users executed their second on-chain transaction on various chains.
