Espresso Systems launches Gibraltar testnet, integrating Arbitrum technology stack
Espresso Systems released its fourth testnet Gibraltar, showcasing a new integration with the Arbitrum technology stack and the first external operator running the Espresso Sequencer node.
Espresso Sequencer is a trusted, neutral, fast finality layer that any Rollup can use for transaction ordering, data availability, and fast pre-confirmation. It uses HotShot consensus, which can scale to thousands of nodes while still providing near-instant pre-confirmation. In this testnet version, Espresso Systems worked closely with the Blockdaemon team, which is responsible for managing external serializer nodes in Gibraltar. This collaboration makes Gibraltar the first shared serialization network operated by external node operators.
The release of Gibraltar is open to the public. Espresso Systems has released the code integrated with the Arbitrum technology stack on GitHub. In addition, they have also published documentation that allows developers and users to interact with Gibraltar and its integrated Rollup. Developers can deploy their Rollup on the Gibraltar testnet through their integration guide.
