CEO of Aura Blockchain Alliance: The relationship between the luxury goods industry and cryptocurrency will increase significantly
Romain Carrere, CEO of Aura Blockchain Consortium, stated that the relationship between the luxury goods industry and cryptocurrency will soon be significantly enhanced. The growth rate of Web3 customers for luxury brands is very fast, increasing exponentially. If the digital product passport you create only meets the minimum requirements of EU regulations, you will not be able to get the customer engagement you are looking for. Customers are looking for additional experiences.
Carrere said that soon, European customers visiting DPPs related to Louis Vuitton handbags or Dior jackets will not only receive basic supply chain information. Instead, they will have a secure on-chain portal - which can prove the unique authenticity of their luxury goods and allow them to browse related features.
Aura, led by Carrere, has 40 members, including luxury giants such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Mercedes-Benz, Dior, Cartier, and Bulgari. Currently, most of this executive's energy is focused on preparing these companies to meet the new regulations on digital product passports (DPP) in the EU, which will take effect in 2026 (or 2027).
