Telegram Introduces Monetization for Broadcast Channels, TON Token Surges
Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has announced plans to introduce monetization for the platform's broadcast channels, with content creators set to receive a 50% share of ad earnings generated from displaying their content to viewers. The remaining 50% will contribute to Telegram's revenue stream. The ad platform will utilize the TON blockchain for payments, which aligns with the increasing interest in the TON blockchain. Despite broadcast channels boasting over one trillion monthly views, the current monetization rate through Telegram Ads is a modest 10%, but the global opening of the advertising platform is anticipated to significantly elevate this monetization rate.
