Former US President Donald Trump said in an interview with CNBC that if he were to be re-elected as president, his government would not crack down on the use of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies through regulatory agencies. Bitcoin has already been widely used. Trump noted that many of the recently launched Trump brand sneakers were paid for with cryptocurrency. When asked if he had purchased Bitcoin, Trump said he did not own any Bitcoin himself, but sometimes allowed people to pay with Bitcoin.
