Yuga Labs' NFT Collections Experience Significant Drop in ETH Valuations, While CryptoPunks Double in USD Value

Yuga Labs' NFT collections, including Mutant Ape Yacht Club and Otherdeed NFTs, have hit all-time low floor prices, with Bored Ape Yacht Club also experiencing a significant decline. However, CryptoPunks, a blue chip Ethereum NFT collection that Yuga acquired in early 2022, has almost doubled in USD value since December. The reason for Yuga's Ape-verse suffering more than other top projects in the space is unclear, but it may be due to the emergence of Bitcoin Ordinals and the rapid pace at which Bored Ape NFTs are shedding value. The emergence of Bored Apes in 2021 introduced a new business model for NFTs, focusing on exclusivity and access, but it remains to be seen if it will continue to appeal to NFT holders in the future and if Yuga's Ape-themed metaverse will face competition from rival collections during the next bull run.
