Ordinals releases version 0.16.0, enhancing configuration flexibility and expanding inscription functionality
The Bitcoin NFT protocol Ordinals released version 0.16.0. This update focuses on improving user friendliness and expanding software functionality. Now, users can set the configuration of each top-level ord through command line parameters, environment variables, or configuration files, greatly simplifying the operation process. In addition, the project team has documented backward compatibility guarantees on recursive endpoints, promising not to delete or change fields that may break inscriptions, but may add new fields in the future. It is worth noting that the inscription tag 15 has been added as a "note" field, allowing inscription tools to include tool names in inscriptions, which will not be rendered, making it more flexible to use.
Version updates also include displaying the initial synchronization time for comparing synchronization times of different versions, supporting configuration of Ord servers through content proxies to test inscriptions that depend on mainnet inscriptions, and allowing for re-inscription through batch files and other functional improvements. In addition, more fields have been added to r/blockinfo, providing detailed statistical data on block size and fees, and simplifying the use of the `ord env` command through configuration files.
