EA’s new player survey hints at more game content to be released in the future. The survey questions teased details about expansion ideas for The Sims 4 game.

The popular life simulation game The Sims 4 was released in 2014. Since then, its publisher, EA, has released 16 expansions and over 60 smaller DLC packs. The latest content of the game was released on July 24 as The Sims 4: Lovestruck. The game’s next major expansion is Life and Death, which EA announced will be released on October 31st.

The Sims 4 survey hints at Cyberpunk theme in future expansions

The latest survey by EA shows that they are planning long-term developments for the game based on player reviews. The survey consists of questions for fan opinion on “high-level” ideas to implement in future expansions. The survey consists of 12 concepts in total.

One concept that stood out is the Cyberpunk-themed DLC pack. This theme will be based on a futuristic world containing advanced technology and cybernetics. As part of the futuristic game, the expansion may include tech-based hobbies and jobs, such as robot fights and cybernetic cosmetics.

The new theme may also have been inspired by Blade Runner, which explores the complex relationships between humans and robots.

The survey includes ideas focused on life stages and other DLCs

This survey is taking the attention of TS4 fans with hints pointing to exciting directions as the childhood, teen, and elderly life-centered themes. There are not many details to dissect in the survey regarding these themes, but they do indicate the company’s interest in exploring life cycles within the game.

EA has previously released content based on childhood and teenage experiences, like The Sims 4: Growing Together. This expansion was released last year in March 2023, while the High School expansion was also released in July 2022. However, the game hasn’t introduced the expansion dedicated to elderly life yet, which players now expect to be released in the future.

Eight other DLC concepts were mentioned in the survey. The prominent of these were the retro world in the late 20th century and the modern monarchy. Furthermore, the themes surrounding the Travel van and camping expansion are also in EA plans. Oceans and Coastal landscapes may also be explored.

A post-apocalyptic fantasy world expansion is also included in the survey. EA ended the survey with a question relating to the underground expansion based on noir themes and organized crimes. These concepts are unique to the existing expansion packs of 2024.

It is worth mentioning that the themes featured in the survey are not final versions. However, the purpose may be filled when EA moves forward with some of the fan-recommended ideas. Furthermore, EA plans to include a lot of stuff in The Sims 4 as there will be no fifth game in the series.
