U.S. Cryptocurrency Sector Plunges, Riot Blockchain Falls More Than 6 Percent

U.S. stocks opened with the Dow up 0.15 per cent, the S&P 500 up 0.04 per cent, and the Nasdaq down 0.05 per cent. Shopify (SHOP.N) jumped 20 per cent on a 26 per cent year-on-year increase in third-quarter revenue. Bitcoin retreated from its highs, and cryptocurrency concepts fell, with Riot Blockchain (RIOT.O) dropping more than 6%, Coinbase (COIN.O) dropping more than 4%, and MicroStrategy (MSTR.O) dropping nearly 2%.
