Analysis: ai16z has communicated with a16z via email and both parties are jointly promoting the DUNA project, so there is no need to worry about trademark infringement issues
Regarding the question of whether "ai16z has infringed on the a16z trademark", user @0xjunkdogg stated that there is no need to worry about this situation and provided the following explanation:
1. They have communicated with a16z via email;
2. The CTO of a16z is currently in ai16z's Discord, but has not yet spoken publicly;
3. Marc Andreessen, co-founder of a16z, once shared related content;
4. ai16z and a16z are jointly promoting the DUNA project, which aims to legalize DAOs in the United States. Previously, a16z had established legal frameworks for DAOs in some states and both parties are now working hard to expand its legal coverage.
Earlier today news came out that Dragonfly managing partner Haseeb Qureshi posted on X saying: "So I want to ask an obvious question - since ai16z is now a token worth over $1 billion dollars, hasn't it infringed upon the trademark of a16z? At first glance ai6nz seemed like parody but it seems like it's become more legitimate with an active roadmap." He sought help from intellectual property lawyers for clarification. He added: "Without commercial intent, it would be difficult to become a token valued at 1 billion dollars."
