Market news, Gary Gensler's X account no longer displays the gray mark (representing government officials).
Yesterday's news, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission stated in a statement that today is Gary Gensler's last day at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Chairman Gary Gensler has long been engaged in public service work and joined the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 2021. Prior to this, he served as chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Deputy Secretary of Treasury for Domestic Finance, Assistant Secretary of Treasury for Financial Markets, and senior advisor to Senator Paul Sarbanes.
He brought his rich experience and knowledge in financial markets to his position as chairman, where we worked together to advance the mission of protecting investors, maintaining fair, orderly and efficient markets, promoting capital formation. Although as commissioners we approach policy issues from different perspectives but we have maintained dignity amidst disagreements. Chairman Gensler has always been committed to bipartisan cooperation and mutual respect for intellectual exchange which helps promote our service to American public . For this reason ,we are deeply grateful.
