TD Cowen: Hester Peirce's term will end in June 2025, which may affect the continuity of the crypto working
According to a message from ChainCatcher, as reported by The Block, an investment bank TD Cowen released a research report stating that the term of Hester Peirce, the newly appointed head of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) crypto working group in the United States, will expire in June 2025. This could potentially affect the continuity of the working group. Mark Uyeda, acting chairman of SEC announced the establishment of this working group on day after Trump's inauguration with an aim to establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for cryptocurrency industry.
Jaret Seiberg, head of TD Cowen's Washington Research Group stated that according to SEC regulations, chairmen and commissioners can extend their terms by up to 18 months after they end. Peirce who is often referred as "Crypto Mom" has long supported crypto innovation and this time her workgroup received support from Uyeda and Atkins.
