Ethereum Foundation Sells 100 More ETH, Bringing Total ETH Sold to 300 in 2025

This is the third sale this year, bringing the foundation's total ETH sale in 2025 to 300 ETH.

Ethereum Foundation's ETH Sales Strategy

The Ethereum Foundation has historically sold ETH at market highs, leading to speculation about its potential impact on market sentiment and Ethereum’s price trends.

However, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has previously suggested exploring staking and DeFi yields as alternative sources of income rather than selling ETH holdings.

While the foundation’s ETH sales have raised questions in the community, these sales may reflect operational funding needs rather than a bearish outlook.

The market will watch whether the Ethereum Foundation continues this trend or moves to alternative income strategies as Vitalik has previously hinted.

As the downward trend continues in the cryptocurrency market, Ethereum (ETH) was trading at $3050 at the time of writing.
