Turkish Bank BankPozitif to Launch Cryptocurrency Custody Services with Swiss Platform Taurus
Turkish digital bank BankPozitif is partnering with Swiss crypto platform Taurus to offer cryptocurrency custody services, joining other financial institutions in Turkey in embracing digital assets. BankPozitif's institutional clients will soon be able to store crypto assets with the bank, with the service expected to launch by June 2025 and initially supporting the top five crypto assets by market cap. BankPozitif has obtained a crypto custody license from the Capital Markets Board of Turkey, with its subsidiary PozitifKripto also receiving a service provider license. Taurus, in addition to working with BankPozitif, has collaborations with three other Turkish banks, including Misyon Bank, as the demand for secure digital asset solutions in Turkey grows. Other crypto-friendly banks in Turkey include Garanti Bbva and Akbank, amidst new crypto regulations introduced in late 2024 focusing on Anti-Money Laundering measures and client identification policies.
