Sony's Soneium blockchain integrates LINE mini-apps for Web3
Sony’s blockchain platform, Soneium, has partnered with LINE to integrate four mini-apps into its ecosystem, aiming to enhance user engagement and accessibility in the Web3 space.
The collaboration, announced on March 12, 2025, marks a step toward bridging traditional digital interactions with blockchain technology.
Soneium, which launched its mainnet in January, plans to introduce Sleepagotchi LITE, Farm Frens, Moonveil: Puffy Match, and Pocket Mob in the coming months.
Jun Watanabe, chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, emphasised the importance of this integration, stating that LINE has built a strong presence and that incorporating successful mini-apps into Soneium is essential for accessibility.
LINE, a widely used messaging platform in Japan and other Asian markets, has around 200 million active users. The collaboration aims to leverage LINE's user base to drive blockchain adoption.
The mini-apps are designed to provide gaming experiences while simplifying Web3 access.
Sleepagotchi LITE is a streamlined version of a sleep rewards app that gained popularity on Telegram, while Farm Frens has secured significant funding and focuses on farming gameplay.
Pocket Mob will offer social strategy RPG gameplay, allowing players to earn rewards through interactions within LINE’s platform.
The integration is expected to create a seamless experience for users transitioning from traditional applications to decentralised ones.
The partnership aligns with LINE’s efforts to expand into Web3, including the launch of a decentralised app portal earlier this year.
By integrating these mini-apps, both companies aim to foster community engagement and drive blockchain innovation.
