Donald Trump to Meet Bukele at White House: Bitcoin on Mind?
U.S. President Donald Trump is all set to host Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, in the White House next month in April, where the two American heavyweights are expected to discuss a set of key issues that might include Bitcoin, as per speculations.
Trump’s invitation to Bukele comes in the wake of latter’s government accepting to jail hundreds of alleged gang members from El Salvador who have been deported from the U.S. by Trump administration.
While there has been no official confirmation of the invitation from the White House, a recent tweet from Nayib has put speculations to rest.
Notably, Nayib Bukele was one among the many invitees to Donald Trump’s inauguration speech. Moreover, Donald Trump Junior was spotted during the oath-taking ceremony of the latter back in June 2024.
Trump and Bukele to share Diet Coke and Bitcoin strategy?
Both Trump and Bukele are considered to be crypto industry stalwarts with Bitcoin as their favorite cryptocurrency. While Trump has emphasized turning the U.S. into a Bitcoin capital of the world, Bukele’s own obsession with BTC is not a hidden fact, as many times he himself has published his portfolio on social media.
Both nations are highly optimistic about the Bitcoin reserve strategy and are actively involved in the process. Moreover, El Salvador’s Bitcoin adoption was considered a milestone in the world of cryptocurrency. Moreover, the pro-crypto U.S. cabinet could act as a catalyst for this technology becoming a major financial alternative during the upcoming time.
