Crypto Price Today (April 4, 2025): Bitcoin Visits $81k Low, Altcoins See Drastic Drop

In a continued market downtrend and increased volatility, Bitcoin price fell to $81k earlier today with it revisiting and bouncing from this key support level. The recently announced tariffs by the U.S. President Donald Trump has brought uncertainty in the stock market and Bitcoin is following it with a drastic selling pressure. 

While it jumped above $88k earlier this week, the price of Bitcoin fell as low as $81,498 in the past trading session with it decreasing over 3.27% in the past days. Following this move, the altcoin market has lost over $50 billion from its market cap in the past 2 days as leading altcoins take a hit and drop significantly from weekly highs. 

At the time of writing, Bitcoin price is trading $82,000 with a 24 hour trading volume of $39.45 billion. It marked a daily high of $84,640 just hours ago and since it is falling ahead of the last weekly session opening in the U.S. stock markets.

Altcoin Market Update 

From leading altcoins, DOGE and TRX have seen slight recovery from the past day’s drop while ETH, SOL, BNB, and ADA are still lagging. ETH is trading near $1,768 while XRP price trades at a key support near $2.02. SOL and BNB are down nearly 2% in the past 24 hours with both crypto seeing heavy selling. 

In the top gainers, GRASS is taking lead today with surging over 21%, followed by DGB’s 12%, ZRO’s 15% and PENDLE’s 10% gain. On the losing side, PI is on top with its price declining 15% in the past 24 hours.
