KIP Protocol has distanced itself from the recent LIBRA token controversy, emphasizing that it had no involvement in the project’s launch or management. In a statement released on Feb. 24 via its X handle, KIP clarified that it was invited by Mauricio Novelli on Feb. 13, 2025, to assist in financing Argentine SMEs but was never involved in the token’s creation. The firm denied participating in discussions about Project Viva La Libertad, the website, or any promotional efforts. According to KIP, the token launch was solely managed by Hayden Davis, and the company was unaware of its sale date or structure. While KIP posted about the project on social media, it was based on information provided by Novelli and the fact that Argentinian President Javier Milei’s endorsement was still visible at the time. KIP further stressed that it received no financial benefits, tokens, or payments from the launch and has no prior or ongoing relationship with President Milei beyond a single meeting in 2024. “We did not receive any tokens or payments, nor were we offered any. KIP and its team do not hold any tokens or funds associated in any way with Libra or Hayden Davis/Kelsier.
